The entire staff was wonderful! So incredibly kind, knowledgeable, and generous. They provided plants for a veteran rebuild in the Dixie Fire burn scar, and couldn’t have asked for a better experience working with a nursery. Go see them! You won’t regret it.

I looked far and wide for a specific maple cultivar that grower JF Schmidt introduced recently, and struck out until I called them up! Eric was willing to put some of this tree on his yearly order even though I hadn’t purchased yet, and it was unknown if this cultivar would be very popular in a mountain environment.
I picked up my tree from them today. Eric was wonderful at pointing out some basic tips that would apply to growing it in the Central Valley. Was really glad I called them up.

Knowledgeable, kind, and helpful staff, excellent selection of plants that are always healthy and thrive once planted. I pass two nurseries in order to shop here. Always my first choice!

I have nothing but amazing things to say about Villager Nursery!! They have an incredible selection of native plants and plants hardy to the region. Especially impressive for April in our climate! Not only that, but the staff were so helpful, knowledgeable, and friendly. They walked us through the entire nursery and pointed out all of the natives for us, and knew the light and water requirements of each plant. We are leaving so happy and excited for our garden!!

This is such a cute spot! Everyone is super friendly and welcoming. They have a really great selection of Christmas trees this year as well! Overall, it was a great experience!

The staff at the nursery are super helpful. The owner, Eric, is one of the most knowledgeable botanists I’ve ever met. He knows every area of Truckee-Tahoe and can tell you exactly what will grow in your micro climate. They carry a wide variety of native plants and trees.

Love this place, staff is so helpful and knowledgeable! I am going to attempt to grow a lawn this year and they got me all excited and confident about it. Nice to have a local place to go to get specific information on our soil and growing plants in the mountain environment.

I came to this lovely nursery in tears this morning because I had to find a planter to bury my pup in, and April, who helped me (she approached ME, with such kindness) was so incredibly kind and helpful, and picked out a lovely wine barrel and some things to go in/on it. thank you for your help and professionalism and genius and kindness! Villager Nursery is an extraordinary nursery with a huge selection of beautiful plants that are proven to grow great in this area! Eric Larusson, the owner, has several degrees in plants and it shows. His selection of native, unusual, and hard to find plants is amazing!! April was very helpful and knowledgeable also. We drove 1.5 hours to get there and it was well worth it, I will be back soon!!

The only place to go for buying plants when you live in the Truckee area. The staff are so friendly and have so much knowledge. The plants are healthy and the range is specific to growing in our area.

Friendly, knowledgeable owners and staff will help you find plants that will actually survive the brutal winters and short summers here. Or they will leave you alone to wander and discover new shrubs and trees to love.

I was just looking at the strawberries I am growing with the new fertilizer Villager nursery has been selling that comes in a refillable bucket. It’s like a miracle. The man who owns this place is very kind and his employees are equally so. Go BUY PLANTS!!!

Villager Nursery has an amazing selection of local wild flowers and shrubs. April and Rob were extremely helpful in locating and teaching us how to plant what we were seeking.

Amazing selection of plants for high altitude growing. I drive over an hour from south lake at least twice a year to come here.
