Villager Nursery is open - roughly mid-March through late December...   Through mid-winter, someone is usually here, IN the shop, most days (paperwork, plants, and shop-cat needs love). We don't want to let anyone down, so if you need something (plant / product) or have questions, PLEASE call or send-us an e-mail and if we're not here, we'll get back to you within the week to help you get what your need.

Hstorically, March is a winter month with occasional spring-like days and April is half later winter, half early spring. Based on weather, snow-melt and common sense, we open and bring in fresh hardy plant material as it is appropriate.  Again, we ARE usually here working on days we are closed, so IF you need something or have questions, PLEASE give us a call.

We are open this Friday, 5/29 from 12-6. We've received plants, soils, houseplants, seeds, fertilizers, etc... from 16 suppliers in the past 4 days and we need a vew more hours to try to catch-up.  PLEASE be patient, we are searching far and wide to provide the best possible selections of color and hardy perennials, trees and shrubs for our clients.

The widest selection of hardy and native plants for the High Sierra, by far. Owners are botanists and plant lovers and everyone at Villager is passionate about helping customers find the right plants for their gardens. They've been at it since the '70's and have a LOT of practical experience atop their educations. "We've killed thousands of plants in our own gardens so our clients won't have to" is something we heard them say. The demonstration gardens are amazing as well.

This is one of the prettiest nurseries I have ever seen. They have a wide selection of plants, including trees, flowers, herbs, etc. The staff is all very friendly and knowledgeable. and are more then happy to assist customer with plant selections and give great advice of what type of plant work best for you. It seemed to me that it's prices were pretty average, not too much above or below other nurseries. It;s not a huge place, but it is very well maintained. Definitely go here if you are in need of something green for your garden.  - Insiderpages

Villager Nursery is open Late March through December 22 (Christmas trees, wreaths, garland, holly, poinsettias, etc...). We are "mostly closed" in mid-winter (January and February). March and April are late winter when we begin to open again as weather, demand and common sense dictate.

While it is fine to plant trees, shrubs and bulbs ANYTIME, and plants are always happier in the ground than they are in pots, few people actually get out there and dig holes in mid-winter... we do, but that's us. 

If you need anything, please call to check with us as Google, Facebook, and, gawd forbid, Yelp are not always exactly up-to-date. Even in mid-winter we'd love to help you with products, plans, bids or consulting, please contact us with your questions or for an appointment.
